12-year old boy tried to detonate bomb at German Christmas market

A 12-year old German-Iraqi boy tried to detonate a bomb at a Christmas market in the western town of Ludwigshafen last month and planted another explosive device near the town hall a couple of days later, German prosecutors said on Friday.

Focus magazine cited security and judicial sources as saying the boy was "strongly radicalised" and apparently instructed by an unknown member of the militant group Daesh.

A spokesman at the Federal Public Prosecutor Office in Karlsruhe confirmed that officials were investigating the case but declined to comment on any possible Daesh link.

Nobody was hurt in either of the incidents. The boy, born in Ludwigshafen in 2004, is below the age of criminal responsibility, meaning no formal proceedings were launched against him, Public Prosecutor Hubert Stroeber said.

The youth welfare office is taking care of the boy and the Federal Public Prosecutor Office is in charge of investigating whether there are any suspects linked to him, Stroeber added.

He said the boy left a backpack containing a self-made nail bomb at the Christmas market on Nov. 26, but the device did not go off because the detonator apparently failed

He then planted another explosive device near the town hall of Ludwigshafen on Dec. 5 but an "informant" called the police and specialists defused it, he said.

The Focus magazine report said evidence pointed to the child having thought about travelling to Syria last summer to join militants

Chaiwala ranks among 'Asia's sexiest men'

The title was awarded by Eastern Eye, an Asian weekly newspaper based in the UK, which released its list of Asia’s sexiest men and women after conducting a poll on social media.

Former One Direction singer Zayn Malik landed the title of the sexiest Asian man, followed by Hrithik Roshan, while Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan was at third spot. Among women, Deepika Padukone was titled the sexiest in Asia.

Our blue-eyed chaiwala bagged the 31st position. He was also the Editor’s Choice on the list.

Arshad became a global internet sensation after his picture by a local photographer posted on Instagram went viral.

The post by photographer Javeria went viral and the chaiwala who was working at the Sunday Bazaar became an overnight social media celebrity. Arshad Khan was widely admired for his good looks, and soon landed a few modelling contracts. He also featured in a music video.

In Pakistan, the picture caused a sensation with #chaiwala being among the top Twitter trends. The story was also picked up by international media, including popular US websites CNN, Buzzfeed etc

خورشید شاہ کا وزیرداخلہ کےاستعفے کا مطالبہ

وقار ستی...قومی اسمبلی میں قائد حزب اختلاف خورشید شاہ نے وفاقی وزیرداخلہ چوہدری نثار کے استعفے کا مطالبہ کر دیا،ان کا کہنا ہے کہ ثابت ہوگیا ہے کہ وزیر داخلہ نے غلط بیانی کی۔

اس سلسلے میں پیپلزپارٹی نے قومی اسمبلی میں تحریک التوا جمع کرادی، وفاقی وزیر خواجہ سعد رفیق کا کہنا ہے کہ سانحہ کوئٹہ کمیشن کی رپورٹ سے وزارت داخلہ کا متفق ہونا ضروری نہیں، چوہدری نثار ایماندار ہیں، مصلحتوں کا شکار نہیں ہوتے۔

خورشید شاہ نے کہا ہے کہ کالعدم تنظیموں کے لوگ روپ بدل بدل کر آزاد گھوم رہے ہیں، دہشت گردی کی قیامت کئی بار اور کئی شہروں میں ٹوٹی مگر وزیر داخلہ نے دہشت گردی کے مقام پر جا کر کبھی اظہار افسوس بھی نہ کیا۔

سید خورشید احمد شاہ نے سپریم کورٹ کے سانحۂ کوئٹہ پر بنائے گئے انکوائری کمیشن کی رپورٹ پر اپنے رد عمل کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ ہمارے چار مطالبات میں پہلے ہی نیشنل ایکشن پلان پر مکمل عمل در آمد کا مطالبہ شامل ہے اور ہم نے یہ مطالبہ اس لئے رکھا ہے کہ نیشنل ایکشن پلان پر اس کی روح کے مطابق عمل در آمد نہیں کیا جا رہا ہے،اب عدالت عظمیٰ کے کمیشن کی انکوائری رپورٹ نے ہمارے مطالبے کی صداقت پر مہر تصدیق ثبت کر دی ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ وزارت داخلہ میں قیادت کا فقدان ہے اور وزارت دہشت گردی کے خلاف جنگ میں کنفیوژن کا شکار ہے، افسر شاہی وزیر داخلہ کی خوشامد میں لگی ہوئی، اب ان حقائق کے بعد وزیر داخلہ کا اپنے عہدے پر براجمان رہنا دہشت گردی کے شکار عوام کے ساتھ بھونڈا مذاق ہوگا اس لئے ضروری ہے کہ وزیر داخلہ اپنے عہدے سے مستعفی ہو جائیں۔

خورشید شاہ نے کہا کہ ہماری قوم نے دہشت گردی کے خلاف جانیں دیں، اپنا مال لٹایا اور گھر بار چھوڑا اور اپنے ٹیکسوں سے اپنی بساط سے بھی زیادہ پیسہ دہشت گردی کے خاتمے کیلئے صرف کیا، لیکن یہ بات نہایت قابل افسوس اور قابل مذمت ہے کہ وزیر داخلہ اور اس کے ماتحت ادارں کی ناقص کارکردگی، غفلت اور لاپروائی کی وجہ سے ہم کھربوں روپے خرچ کرنے کے باوجود بھی تسلی بخش نتائج حاصل کرنے سے قاصر ہیں۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ بات تو سب پہ عیاں ہے کہ وزارت داخلہ کالعدم تنظیموں کے خلاف مؤثر کارروائی کرنے سے قاصر رہی اور کالعدم تنظیموں کے لوگ کبھی ایک روپ میں اور کبھی دوسرے روپ میں ازاد گھوم رہے ہیں۔

قائد حزب اختلاف نے کہا کہ وزیر داخلہ اور اس کی وزارت کی اگر یہی کارکردگی رہی تو پھر خدشہ ہے کہ ضرب عضب میں سول و ملٹری اداروں نے جو کامیابیاں حاصل کی ہیں وہ بھی ضائع ہو جائیں

آرمی چیف نے 13دہشتگردوں کی سزائے موت کی توثیق کردی

آرمی چیف جنرل قمر جاوید باجوہ نے 13 دہشت گردوں کی سزائے موت کی توثیق کردی ہے، تمام دہشت گرد شہریوں ،قانون نافذ کرنے والے اداروں پر حملوں اور قتل میں ملوث تھے ۔

پاک فوج کے ترجمان ادارے آئی ایس پی آر کے مطابق سزائے موت پانے والے دہشت گردوں میں باچا خان یونیورسٹی، پریڈ لین مسجد پر حملہ اور دیگر کارروائیوں میں ملوث تھے۔

آئی ایس پی آر کے مطابق سزا پانے والوں میں لطیف اللہ محسود، عرفات، واحد علی ، عبدالرحمان اور میاں سید رحیم ،نور محمد ،شیر علی ،قاسم شاہ،عثمان اوروقار فیصل شامل ہیں ۔

آئی ایس پی آر کا کہنا ہے کہ تمام دہشت گرد 325معصوم انسانی جانوں کے قتل میں ملوث تھے جبکہ ان کی کارروائی میں 366افراد زخمی بھی ہوئے

Chile minister says sorry after receiving sex doll gift

Chile's Economy Minister Luis Felipe Cespedes has apologised for his reaction upon being presented with an inflatable sex doll at an industry dinner on Tuesday.

He could be seen laughing when he was given the doll by the head of Chile's Manufacturers' and Exporters' Association, Roberto Fantuzzi.
Mr Cespedes said he had been "caught by surprise" by the present.
Many Chileans expressed their outrage at the incident on Twitter.

'Shameful'

Mr Fantuzzi handed Mr Cespedes the naked doll on stage at the annual dinner of the Manufacturers' and Exporters Association (known by the acronym Asexma).
The doll had a sign pasted over its mouth reading "To stimulate the economy"

Photos of the event show Mr Cespedes laughing and later walking off the stage holding the doll. 

Mr Fantuzzi is known to hand "humorous" gifts to his most high-profile guests at the annual dinner, but none of the others was as controversial as that given to Mr Cespedes.

Senator Alejandro Guiller, who is expected to run for president in 2017, was given a hobby horse "to catch up with the other candidates".

After the photos of the dinner were published in local newspapers, many Chileans took to social media to vent their anger.
Many called the minister's reaction "inappropriate".
Journalist Consuelo Saavedra tweeted: "What a shameful job to hand an inflatable doll to Minister Cespedes 'to stimulate the economy'."

Others said the present was a sign of how misogynistic Chilean men were and how women were widely viewed as objects.
The most high profile Chilean to react was President Michelle Bachelet, who said that such incidents could not be tolerated.

Her comment was retweeted more than 1,300 times.
Mr Fantuzzi also tweeted to apologise. He said that he had daughters and granddaughters and that it had never been his intention to generate violence against women. 

While many of the comments were negative there were also those who defended Mr Fantuzzi saying that the present had been a "joke" and those who criticised him should "light up".
Some newspapers also took the opportunity to recall gaffes made by past Chilean politicians - such as the joke former President Sebastian Pinera told at a heads of state meeting in 2011.
"Do you know what the difference between a politician and a lady is?" President Pinera asked at the meeting in Mexico.
"When a politician says 'yes', he means 'maybe', when he says 'maybe', he means 'no', and if he says 'no', he's not a politician," he continued.
"When a lady says 'no', she means 'maybe', when she says 'maybe', she means 'yes', and if she says 'yes', she's not a lady'," he said, as some in the audience laughed.
A number of women bemoaned the fact that attitudes towards women in Chile seemed to have changed little since Mr Pinera made that joke five years ago.

US President-elect Donald Trump has lavished praise on technology titans' "incredible innovation" during a summit at Trump Tower.

Hosting with three of his children - Donald Jr, Eric and Ivanka - Mr Trump told the executives he would make trading across borders "a lot easier".

Amazon's Jeff Bezos, Apple's Tim Cook, Tesla's Elon Musk and Facebook's Sheryl Sandberg attended.
Paypal founder Peter Thiel, a member of Mr Trump's team, was also there.

Mr Thiel, who has been a vocal Trump ally and spoke about his nomination at the Republican National Convention this summer, is expected to act as the bridge between the new administration and tech leaders. 

Throughout his campaign to be elected president, Mr Trump put technology companies and their executives in the firing line, with calls for boycotts and accusations of tax-dodging.
But the president-elect was cordial on Wednesday, telling his guests he was "here to help you folks to do well".

"We want you to keep going with the incredible innovation. There's nobody like you in the world," he said. 

"You'll call my people, you'll call me, it doesn't make any difference. We have no formal chain of command around here."
Mr Trump also told the group that technology companies benefited from a "bounce" after his election, adding "everybody in this room has to like me at least a little bit".

The president-elect struck a positive tone with industry leaders despite bashing companies like Apple and Amazon throughout his campaign for sending jobs offshore and their stance on encryption.
Earlier this year, more than 140 tech leaders from Silicon Valley signed an open letter arguing against Mr Trump's candidacy, warning the New York billionaire "would be a disaster for innovation".

Rafique says Imran’s ‘gang’ disrupted Parliament session

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Wednesday while criticising PTI lawmakers, said that Imran Khan’s ‘gang’ on purpose disrupted the session by surrounding Speaker's dais.

Talking to the media after Parliament’s session in which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members also participated, he said that The PTI lawmakers tore apart not only the copies of the agenda but also the constitution as well.

“We tried to speak on our turn, but Imran Khan's gang on purpose disrupted the session by surrounding Speaker's dais”, Rafique said.

He said that whatever happened was sad and the entire nation saw it.

Rafique said that government is ready to discuss Panama Papers issue in the Parliament if demanded by the opposition.

“There is no contradiction in the statement given by the Prime Minister on the floor of the House and that given in the Supreme Court”, he said

He said the government is also ready to discuss the issue in the speaker's chamber.  He said that Prime Minister's name is not in the Panama Papers.

Federal Minister said that said members of the treasury benches were not allowed to answer the questions raised by the opposition leader in the House today due to the derogatory behaviour of PTI members.

Earlier during the day, PTI members of the National Assembly disrupted an already heated session of the House, making it impossible for the proceedings to continue and forcing the NA speaker to adjourn the session until Thursday evening.

A stormy NA session was in progress with lawmakers from treasury and opposition delivering fiery speeches on the Panama Papers leaks, which has been haunting the Nawaz government for months now.
